Botanical Bas-Relief Master Class in Minsk — Plants Cast in Plaster
A botanical bas-relief is the art of preserving natural beauty in gypsum. We make three-dimensional impressions of real plants, grasses and flowers.
The process starts with rolling out clay and pressing the plants into it. Then we pour architectural gypsum into the mould.
Once the gypsum has set, we peel away the clay to reveal a finely detailed, sculpted cast of nature, which you can tint with watercolour or leave pure white.
